A week sober, thanks to everybody

Hi guys,

yes, it's a week now and I'm still sober. I don't even want to touch the stuff. I just remember how miserable I was, how depressed, the suicidal thoughts. Everything is back to normal, I'm the guy I used to be and I'm happy. Of course, I do get anxious and panicky at times, but these episodes don't last very long. It's difficult to adapt to my new personality as well. It's like my favourite comforting blanket has been taken away from me. But I don't care. It's only booze, I keep telling myself. 'Beyond the influence' has helped greatly as well. I would recommend it. So, I wanted to thank everybody for the support. Wish me luck...

Congrats on the week, for me I never found the stopping hard (Until the end when I had to drink every day), it was staying stopped. I knew in order to stay sober I had to change! If I did not change, I was still the same old drunk who would eventually go right back to the bottle.

Nothing changes if nothing changes.

well done on that first week!

Those are some challenging days, and now that they are under your belt, let them continue to grow into more days sober...one at a time.

not going to A.A. yet, but I'm planning to. I feel the need to talk to people in the same predicament as mine. Thanks for the encouraging words.

Taz,
I even find the stopping hard, does that mean I'm screwed?
