Weekend check in, now it's your turn
Seems many of us haven't been around/online lately so how about everyone checkin' in just to say hello so we all know where everyone is and how we're doin'.
So, Talluleh - CHECK!! Sober on a Friday night as is the norm these days (yay). I have been working my arse off, sadly it's not getting any smaller but other than that, I'm doing well.
Who's next!!

I had a pretty good Friday I think.
I had my last clinical rotation of the semester and it was pretty uneventful so that was good. (I spent most of it with a little dog with Cushing's disease - no big deal...)
A friend called and wanted to hang out because he felt like drinking so I invited him over to hang out. We started looking around my house and realized that while it looked neat, it was actually filthy because I'm always too busy with school to really clean in it. So to entertain ourselved we embarked on this kind of ludicrious cleaning session that had me climbing into rafters to knock down spider webs while he attempted to clean the cat hair out of my ceiling fan with a toothbrush. (I think you call it 2 alcoholics putting the same amount of effort into cleaning a house that they would normally put into drinking...)
For a break we went to the bar near my house where a few of my friends work and I introduced him some of my classmates. I swear Matt (who was tending bar) pulled a bottle of Stoli off the shelf and poured it before I even sat down. (Am I that predictable?) He was kind of confused that I came into the bar for a Sprite.
Still, it was pretty fun to hang out and say hi to everyone. I haven't been there in weeks and people had been wondering where the hell I'd disappeared to. I think I've figured out that trying to tell my friends that I'm an alcoholic is a losing battle - in this town it's kind of a badge of courage to proudly announce that you're an alcoholic and keep drinking. No one could figure out why I wasn't drinking vodka, but "I don't feel like it" seemed acceptable to everyone.
So it was an evening of "clean living" all around.

Happy weekend,
I'm on vacation this week! Today I'll be taking a bunch of kids to run the last three hundred yards of the Boston Marathon. It's really cool. Most of these kids don't get much positive in their lives, so when they're sprinting for that tape with huge crowds cheering for them it's a real thrill. Unfortunately, the weather that Hope is getting will be here in Boston tomorrow. Rain, rain, go away. Mike

My eyes are fuzzy and my hair is standing on end and I have a headache but it's not due to alcohol so I'll take a couple of advil and have some breakfast.
Glad I'm here, sober, and looking forward to my meeting this afternoon. There is a new girl who I am hoping will be there - time to get out of 'me'.

Our family drove down to see the San Diego mission yesterday. It was beautiful. In California the 4th graders study California history and the kids pick one of the 21 California missions and do a report or project on it. It was a great excuse to take a drive down the coast.
Today we went to church. I signed up to take the membership class and consider joining at the end. This is kind of a big deal for me.
Now, those 11th hour taxes....and laundry...always laundry.
All in all, great weekend.

Hi everybody!
I'm sick as a dog, but I'm sober. I worked very hard on Friday night and Saterday. I made a ton of money, but my health revolted. I spent the day today in bed.
I'm so thankful that I'm sober.

Okay, here is my weekend check in....I was so SICK, if asked yesterday, I probably would have chosen death over how I felt!! Coughing so hard, I thought I would start getting up blood, fever, chills, ache...horrible. I bet I slept 20 hours yesterday...I popped in for a minute yesterday, can't even remember what I responded to. Thank God that was the worst day, it started Thursday. Today, I feel 1/4 human..tomorrow will be better. The good news is...still sober!!!!
Going to sleep now.....Cathy
