well I am sick of not knowing whats going on, I said in my 1st post I was waiting for the call saying either "your dad is in rehab" or "your dad is dead"

I also said I thought it was the latter

well I am sick of not knowing today I have decided to e mail my uncle and find out cause if anyone knows it's him, but I dont know if I want to.

it's nothing against him he is a good person

but I think I already know what the resonse will be

and if it is what I think it is

I doubt I would take it very well.

It applies here, there is an action you can take to change the way you are feeling, for better or worse. I pray for you and your dads sake that he is in rehab, let us know what you find out.

So how was your dad? Was he doing well or white knuckling it?

I dont know what white knuckling it means but he sounded clean and sober, he works at a rehab center which is kind of ironic, he sounded like he was doing ok which is good however he doesnt sound like he wants to be working there AT ALL and I dont blame him I wouldnt wanna work at a rehab center either.

he said he is considering writing a book which belive me would be a best seller as he has led a very "interesting" life

White knuckling it is strictly not drinking by will power alone, my dad did it, I was a baby when he quit so I can not comment on him, but some folks who white knuckle it are the most miserable angry people you will ever see. Support groups and step programs if the recovering alcoholic is willing to take advantage of them helps an alcoholic become a happier person in sobreity and helps them stay sober easier.

The highest incidents of relapse happen amoung white knucklers.
