AA Big Book Quote 10/24
"We alcoholics are men and women who have lost the
ability to control our drinking. We know that no real alcoholic
ever recovers control. All of us felt at times that we
were regaining control, but such intervals -- usually brief --
were inevitably followed by still less control, which led in
time to pitiful and incomprehensible demoralization. We
are convinced to a man that alcoholics of our type are in
the grip of a progressive illness. Over any considerable
period we get worse, never better."
Alcoholics Anonymous, 4th Edition, More About Alcoholism, pg. 30

I find that to be the truth for me. Many a time trying to control. And I have gone th route of, I'll just drink beer. Didn't matter, had no control over beer either. And not only didn't have have no control over drink, I didn't have any choices either. It got to the point that I had to drink, whether I wanted to or not.
What a gift to be on the wonderful journey.
God Bless
