Gil Lamb

Hi,
Found this while searching for Gil Lamb
I wore out one of his speaker tapes in early sobriety. Wanted to see if I could get someone to send me an mp3?
bballdad ???

Gil should be added to the XA site
I was grateful to find Clint H there along with Bob Earle. These three guys had a big part in saving my life. I was so glad I got to tell Clint that face to face. He looked so young when I met him. I am also saddened that he is gone from us.

I also am looking for a recording of Bob Earl. The 79 is a little too recent. I remember him saying he was 16 years clean and sober in this pitch. I think he was speaking at a young peoples event. I am thinking it may have been in 1976 or 1977?

I also found a few vintage speakers @ AA Speakers
For some reason most are in a real player format so you would need to install real player.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Randy A.

Clarence S. was from Cleveland, OH and took credit for holding the first meeting called Alcoholics Anonymous. Up until that time they had been meeting in Acron as an Oxford Group meeting.

I just listened to Jim B yesterday and Hank J.

Tom B jr,Gil Lamb from Muleshoe Tx,Gil`s not on xa speakers.Earl Hightower from Cal,,Norm A. from Cal is a great oldie too.
in the 60`s there was Tom Shipp from Tx who spoke a lot at Blackstone,Va.He`s inspirational sometimes.

Like Laurie,I have hundreds of tapes here.I am slowly in the process of transferring them to cd
I just wanted to second "Hank J." Personally, I think Earl H. is about as funny as they come on a consistent basis but Hank J had me craaaaaaaaackin up. Here's the 96kps version XA-Speakers - The lights are on! -The first 25 minutes or so are epic.

My favorite Hank J. quote is:

"We AA's become so damn spiritual, we are of no earthly use to anyone."

Mickey B (not sure if last name is Bush or not) IS an addict.

Addiction to Alcohol is still an addiction.

I believe you meant to ask if he is addicted to more than only alcohol, and the answer is "YES". You can find talks by Mickey B if you associate the search with Cocaine Anonymous, and Narcotics anonymous as well.
Hope this helps!

Bob D has done quite a few Big Book talks with Scott L. Every one that I have listened to are just great! Each of those guys is terrific on their own, but together it is amazing.

My favorite is Sandy B- easy to listen to, makes sense to me, and I find his message to be very helpful.

The first 35 minutes of the 3rd CD in a Step Study set done by Don M. of Louisville, KY in 1996.

He's talking on steps 6 & 7.

I listen to it at least 3x a month.

It has changed my life.

Here's a snippet: "There ain't but one spiritual principle: God instead of me."

freya

P.S....but my most favorite speaker of all time is Scott L, from Nashville; I do believe that I could get something out of listening to that man read the friggin' phone book for 60 minutes!

Amen to that, I listened to it, even though I read some prayers thousands of time, this changed my perception on them, powerful message.

My favorite speaker has been Jack Sullivan out of Louisville. There is one on elmoware.com

You also can't go wrong with Dr. Paul O. or Einer H......and I'll always be partial to listening to my Al-Anon Dad, Wally S at the MO Convention.

great thread! Thanks for all of the recommendations...

We are taking a couple to a We Came to Believe weekend retreat this month ... these are put on all over the country by Clarence S.'s sponsees and take attendees through the steps just like he did in Ohio in the early days.

You can listen to a long video of Clarence at his website cametobelieve.org

Yeah, Freya....Don Majors not only does this well, but has an amazing story, also, if you haven't listened to it yet.

I have heard his story a few times (He's one of those people I can listen to over and over again!) and also got for Valentines Day a Big Book Weekend thing of his and Scott L.'s -- have to wonder what was on my partner's mind with that one: those 2 guys on the same CDs is almost enough to change my religion!!!
