Post We will lose interest in selfish things and gain interest in our fellows.

Many of us, we selfish coming in to AA. t was all about me. Being around the tables a few 24 hours now, I get a better understanding of gaining interest in our fellows. It's so encouraging to read someone picking up a coin now. To read someone got their lic. back, a new job etc.

This is a we program. No mention of I in the steps. We have to get out of one's self to go forward in our recovery.

Don't sit back and be selfish with your recovery, share it with others in AA help them overcome their problems, you'll be rewarded 10 fold

Thanks Captain!

I think of all the changes I'm making/need to make in this new sober life, the acceptance that the world doesn't revolve around me might be the most work. Thanks for the reminder.

Aye, CaptainZing

I do agree that over the years seeing the promises come true in the lives of others have been extremely gratifying and encouraging.

Thank you for a very heart felt post and for sharing your experience strength and hope. Think maybe I’ll be claiming some of that reward, 10 fold you say?

Captain,

that was truly inspiring. I got a warm and fuzzy feeling all over. Thanks for that.

Years ago, when I first walked into the Rooms and heard the Promises, I thought . "no way"

Now, ". . . Thank you God, they have materialized . . . because I worked for them.""

Abandon yourself to God as you understand God. Admit your faults to Him and to your fellows. Clear away the wreckage of your past. Give freely of what you find and join us. We shall be with you in the Fellowship of the Spirit

A Vision for sugErspun has become my favorite chapter in the last few days (I am sure it is temporary)...but what a way to end after all those chapters that come before.

Brilliant
