I am starting the full time job tomorrow that I had mentioned a while back.

That means that it will take me about a month to save up the money to get an apartment. I have been living with my father.

I'm getting close to 2 months sober ... a record for me. But I know a big help has been living here. He's an alcoholic with 6 years sobriety .. goes to A.A every day and told me if he caught me drinking he'd kick me out.

With no place to go if kicked out I decided not to even entertain the thought of drinking here.

He's happy with me .. my mother is happy with me .. girlfriend and her family are happy ... everyone worried about me for a long time. I don't ever want to go back to drinking.

But I have to be real ... I know when I get my own apartment it would only take 1 wrong choice to send me directly back to the hell I was in nearly 2 months ago.

So I have a month to prepare.

I got sober for my ex a couple of times because I thought it would keep us together, it ended up with me drinking when we would get into fights just to spite him when really all I was doing was harming myself. Get sober because you want to be sober, not to keep your relationship.

When you get that apartment, why not have a support network in place?
Something face to face like AA or SMART or LifeRing could be good?
