Great advice Sober Leigh! Every single day sober is a blessing! It's hard to realize that at first but the moment you realize YOU are worth it and YOU are the one who can make it happen. Then thing will get better and better :-) YOU can do this Neo :-)
Checking in on this Memorial Day and am grateful for everyone who served and is serving our country. Visited the cemetery today with a personal thanks & love to my father, who served in the Korean War. I often wonder what he experienced and if he drank due to what he saw or did but he never talked about it.
Also a huge Thank You to everyone who dedicates their time, support, advice and love to this 24-hour thread.
4:40 pm here and I'll have another 24 hours of freedom. Very fitting sentiment today.
Congratulations to everyone celebrating a Milestone!
Take care all....

Remembering all who sacrificed so we can live free. We can never repay them, but we can try to live our best life possible in their honor.
So - please give me another sober 24. I don't want to be numb & foggy ever again.

Glad you've decided to join us Vegit! Sobriety is a truly wonderful thing. Stay strong and reap the benefits.
Goodnite Neo.
The physical cravings will diminish if you stay strong. It was tough for me mainly the first 30 days. Then it was more mental for awhile but you are stronger than you realize. The benefits far outweigh the anguish that alcohol can cause. Sobriety is the best decision I made in my life.

Brrrr, winter has arrived. Its getting cold down here ! But today is sunny at least which always cheers me up.
Congrats to all the milestoners ! A special congrats to FMA ! One year is fantastic ! And it will get better and better as each day passes, I can assure you of that. I remember when I told my ex-sponsor that I had reached one year, he EXPLODED in excitement. For the other milestoners, be super proud too ! I read once to focus on 2 time periods: the day and the year. Aim for what you want to achieve in one year and then focus on the day and what steps, no matter big or small, that you can take, on the day, to achieve that goal. Forget the weeks and months, they will pass as ever. So, keep taking one step at a time !
Another 24 hours of patience, compassion and sobriety pls ! Its 8:43m here !

OMG.... I almost forgot to drop in today.
I guess I was trying so hard to get some things done before having to go back to work tomorrow.
I filled out my FAFSA this morning and I paid my house payment - the first two things, so I got done what I absolutely had to do. Fingers crossed on the college thing.... I'm going to not think about it and if it's meant to be, it will be.
I hope everyone had a great day today and got some of their things to do done too!!

One again I blew it. Had one drink with friends the other night. Drank a whole bottle last night. Have not drank today so I'm back on day 1. Off to bed soon. Looking forward to another 24hrs sober. I'll make sure to check in first thing in the morning. Sorry everybody.
