New here

Today is my first day on this forum. I have been a member of a Naranon forum since July, but it seems to have crashed. It has been down for several days and I feel very lost without others to talk and share with.

I have been married for 9 years to a crack / cocaine addict, but am trying harder than ever before to break this cycle. I love him, he's a good man at heart, but I can't take his addiction any longer.

We have no children together, thank God, but I still can't seem to leave him! I know I'm in an addictive relationship. I have just recently began to pursue recovery for myself and have gone to one open meeting.

I'm still not sure how it all works - the steps, working them in my life, etc.

I hope I can begin to feel a part of this group as much as I did the other one.

Thanks, Peg

Peg, I'm busy at work but, wanted to welcome you to SR. You'll find support and encouragment here. I was addicted to alcohol but, this proveds another side of the coin to us both. We can learn from each other. There are a few forums that are more directly involved with your issues. However, we are sort of a family here and , many go onto different boards. Welcome!

Peg!

Slowly, I see familiar faces popping up (I was a regular on the other board, as well).

Glad you made it here - just like meetings, one goes down, another is waiting, door open, coffee on.

I'll echo what you probably know by heart now:

Go to meetings! Get a sponsor! Work the steps!

Peace & Love,
Sugah (aka Jody)
