The language of self compassion...

' How easy it is to be compassionate when it's yourself in trouble!' - Richard Bach, 'Messiah's Handbook - Reminders for the Advanced Soul'

' If your compassion does not include yourself, then it is incomplete' - Buddhist saying

The language of self compassion,

' We are all fallible human beings'

' It's not your fault'

' You can't choose what's happened to you so far - your genes, your upbringing - but you can choose how you respond to it'

' Work towards being the best possible version of yourself'

Given all the events that have happened to me in my life, setting aside my 'drinking history' but not in hich, through the selfish , irresponsible actions of others I have endured a lot of pain and suffering, these phrases, often in my recovery used in Cognitive Focussed Therapy and Compassionate Self meditation are highly recommended...
