Are we the only ones?

Friday night, a no pot smoking, no cigarette smoking, high school football playing, temperature in the 60's, great to be alive in Texas night!

Saturday is coming, BBQ cooking, college football on the tube, and it will be an even better night.

Sunday will start a new week of feeling awesome. Even if the Cowboys lose.
The wife and I sure enjoy this clean/sober living!

Anyone else feel great, or are we the only ones?

Well Plano,.
I haven't been feelin to well lately, and it's more like in about the 40's here and raining, LOL...
But I am alive, and that is a good thing..
I don't think we are the only ones, but I do think sometimes, that some here maybe realize a bit more just how grateful we are for the good feelings we have..

I am really happy you are feeling so good..

Love ya,
Becky

Glad to see you are feeling so good.

I am having a great day/night. My 11yr. Wedding Anniversary, got a new plate I have been waiting for, I went to a meeting after a great night with my wife.
I am enjoying the rest of the evening and start my day off with the Just for Today, thank my higher power for help keeping me clean, and then go from there.
It is funny how it works. When I start the day off working the program, everything else seems to fall into place. Even if something crappy happens during the day, I know I can fall back on my program, and my HP to get me through it.
As long as I don't use today, I have a better chance of staying clean tomorrow.
I worry about Today, cause when tomorrow is here, it will be Today...
Have a good Clean weekend,
Chad H.

To Becky,
I am sorry to here you aren’t feeling well. I hope it is temporary. Being clean is the most important thing though. We have followed your progress on these boards since we joined SoberRecovery. You have been one of our inspirations that have helped us immensely. Thanks for letting us share in your success!

To Chad,

Congratulations on your eleventh Wedding Anniversary.

My wife and I celebrated our twenty sixth back in July. That was our first one clean. I still find happiness in that.

My son is on his way back from the Persian Gulf where he spent his summer aboard the USS Nimitz. We are making plans to go greet him and his shipmates. We will also be taking his new bride to be with him, as they will now start their new life together. They were married in April just before he left for the gulf.

We will be meeting our son for the first time, clean from everything. He is twenty two years old. We quit all our bad habits before he left on deployment.

It is so great to be alive, clean. We were never really alive when we were using!

Ya know, I'm a little broke, a little down...BUT:

I'm sober

I live in a beautiful place

I have a loving husband and family (even if they are not here)

It looks like Wilma's gonna miss us...and

I'm learning to work on things I CAN change (ie - I'm applying for new jobs);
recognize those I have no control over( ie- if the INS if ever gonna give me my greencard so I can actually take one of those jobs!).

Sounds a bit like the serenity prayer ~ I'm glad I'm finally really 'getting it"

Love to you all & happy Saturday!

To SS,
Things seem to always work out for the better. Having a good attitude helps get though the rough stuff.

Keeping a positive outlook helps me have a great day no matter what happens.

If I have a negative outlook my day will be horrible no matter the outcome.

To FaeryQueen,
I forgot about the Astros with all the great feelings I am enjoying. This just adds one more thing to be happy about to the long list.

It will be great having a World Series Title here in Texas. We both know the Rangers will never pull it off (grin).

It will go well with that Stanley Cup, Super Bowls, and NCCA Championships on the long trophy shelf that Texas enjoys.

Now all we need is for The Longhorns to play for another National Championship. One of my sons high school varsity football teammates now plays for the ‘Horns.

I am waiting for the game to start between #2 Texas and #10 Texas Tech at 2:30PM today.

Hook ‘em Horns!

well i'm broke, tired, stressed and the razorbacks can't win a game, but i've never been more happy in my life. i am sober and free. my little girl can come to me when she falls instead of her grandma. i can carry on an intelligent conversation instead of nodding of midsentence.
razorbacks prolly won't win and i prolly won't win the lottery, but i will still be free and sober next week.

To Karmabella

The Hogs darn near beat # 4 Georgia yesterday, got to feel pretty good about that.

It is so great for you to be there for your little girl now. And it has finally cooled off a little bit outside. Its more like football time now.

Cowboys v Seattle, can the 'boys pull it off? I hope so. But, I will still feel great even if they don't.

The world would be right again it The Hogs were in the Big 12. I sure miss the good old days of the Southwest Conference. Texas v Arkansas was always a great game. I watched that National Championship game from 1969 on ESPN Classic a while back. What a game!

We had a little taste of the good old days a couple of years back at the Cotton Bowl. Them Hogs did a number on The ‘Horns. We need a rematch!

So many things have more meaning now.

Being clean is great!
