It's almost that time- and I'm scared to death
Hi guys... I've been on probation for a year this month. I have a year and 2 months clean. That being said- I'm very scared for my sobriety after probation ends. Probation has been a big part of my recovery, whether I like to admit it or not, and I am scared to death that one day I'm going to mess up. With all this bad heroin going around I find myself fantasizing about maybe meth, since it won't kill me doing it once.... (ha)
I go to meetings multiple times a week. (I work full time and go to school, I go as often as I can) Can anyone, maybe someone who's been here before, give me any tips and/or advice?
Thank you all.

Truthfully....
Google pictures of people who abuse Meth....ask yourself if you want to see that in the mirror every morning?
You are on a wonderful path, even if you were forced to get sober.
I would start making a list of all the positive aspects of being clean.
Here is a start:
Able to work/go to school
Better physical, mental, emotional health
Less chance of becoming homeless/broke
Relationships improve
Spiritual growth
Keep looking forward, your not missing anything back on that crazy train!

I did a few fundamental things to stay sober
I reached out for help whenever was in trouble, no matter how often it was. I made sure I had a few sources of support - a main one and a few back ups.
I changed my life. I cut out those people places and things that would lead me into letting myself down.
I had to make a basic choice - I could get high or be who I wanted to be - but not both.
I love the life I've built clean and sober. I don;t want to lose it, or the person I've become.
You'll be surprised at how effective that is.

The best I can say is instead of being afraid do everything you can that will give yourself faith and confidence that you can make it. Prepare and have a definite plan, commit to it. Believe in yourself. Best of luck.
