My story is no different than anyone else who is in recovery. The same places, the same people, and the same things. My guilt, resentments, and selfishness was no different than anyone else. Pain is pain and that is all there is to it. The only difference is that there is a different face telling it. Drugs and alcohol were not to blame, but they were a damn good excuse. So was family, fear, money, relationships, and the fact that Tuesday started with the letter “T”. Only when I realized that the only problem I had was looking back at me in the mirror could I begin to get a grip on the solution. That solution for me was God and AA. In that order. And with that a beautiful journey started, one that I am looking forward to seeing how it ends. Just sayin…
