Right on, I still haven't quit smoking cigs yet but I have quit everything else. I do not know if I am ready for that yet. What has helped you quit cigs?

Thanks Robert....having difficult moments today....being at six weeks and 1 day.

Listening and watching videos at www.whyquit.com has helped. Today was this one which I'm listening to right now...https://whyquit.com/joels-videos/lif...thout-smoking/
Daily support here at SR posting in threads I create in nicotine abstinence forum....also posting in a 24 hour thread I don['t care if it's weird or whatever but for now I find it helpful to have soberrecovery.com open all the time and read/thank/post often.

I am using Chantix which helped tremendously in the beginning and I'm sure now...but along with that is eating right, plenty of fluids, sleep and nap often, tell anyone and everyone I meet that I quit.

There are tons of people out there who have quit for long times and like to talk ab out it. Many people don't have the advantage of therapy or 12step groups.

If I smoke will I feel better than what I am feeling now. First off why do I want to change the way I'm feeling? I may get instant gratification, but experience shows I will experience the same feelings I had and feel worse about smoking.

Keep in touch....post often...pm whenever you want....you just helped me!!!! Gregory

One month, two weeks, 6 hours, 13 minutes and 16 seconds. 543 cigarettes not smoked, saving $203.67. Life saved: 1 day, 21 hours, 15 minutes.

today has already been tough....woke up several times with urges....have had to rationally talk this out and make abstinent decisions.

I feel physically overpowered and mentally overwhelmed by the way my "address is a mess" and I'm not able to fix my cat's problems.

Mastering it requires acceptance of three fundamental principles:

That dependency upon using nicotine is a true chemical addiction, captivating the same brain dopamine wanting relief pathways as alcoholism, cocaine or heroin addiction;

That once established we cannot cure or kill an addiction but only arrest it;

and

that once arrested, regardless of how long we have remained nicotine-free, that just one hit of nicotine creates an extremely high probability of full relapse.
