Sober 7 Days
I am happy to say I have seven days sober today. What I am realizing this time around is that I have an addictive behavior with several different things. Sugar for one. When I wake in the morning, in the afternoon and when I can't sleep at night, I need sugar. It seems everything I do I become addictived. I've gotten back into excercising which is a good thing. I started going 30 minutes a day, then an hour, now two hours daily. I ride my bike for two hours at a time. I like to go to the pool but stay for three hours. Unfortunately for my husband the only thing I'm not obsessed with is well, I guess that would be another room LOL. Luckily I am not working so I have the time to do these things, but it opened my eyes that whatever I try in moderation, works for a short time then eventually I am back at in in full force. I know this is definetly true with alcohol. I now know I can't even have one drink! One drink eventually turns into 20. I am grateful to be sober today!

Give it time. Gratitude will lead to other things and feelings. When you do begin to want to express your love for him in "that" way, he'd better be ready! Congrats on seven days. Keep it up!
It's normal to crave sugar when we quit drinking. I will offer one bit of my experience as a caution, however.
I was told by a wonderful woman in AA when I first tried to quit drinking at the age of 20 (it didn't stick, but seeds were planted) that sugar would help the craving for a drink, but to be sure that I had protein in my stomach first. My short-cut mind thought, "Protein, sugar...PEANUT M&M'S!!" And, at the first craving, I devoured 8 boxes of them...the size that kids sell for school fund-raisers. I ate them in less than an hour and promptly went into sugar shock.
So....sugar is not a bad thing to deal with the cravings early on, but be careful!!
Congrats on 7 days!
Peace & Love,
