A few words found to make us remember why we stay sober and what we can LOSE!!
Fiction as usually.This poem has a little cursing etc..If offended by cursing,and or violence please don't read.However this does have a postive ending.Thanks much
Im sorry for what i have done
Im sorry for the marks that still remain
Im sorry i never think before i do
Im sorry i don't make your life easy
Again i come home screaming and drunk
Against the wall i throw you
You cover your face with your hands
Like it will protect you any
Screaming out please don't hit me
Like i ever listen
Please don't hit me..please
You f@#$%^& *****
You dam bitch
Screaming at you not knowing any better
Not thinking before doing
I continue to beat you
You continue to cry
I came home today and there was a note
Unfolding it i read
To my love,
I can not take the beatings any longer I love you much but you need help
Loves much your x
That was then and a year has passed and now im better
I know what i did was wrong
Though i may not be able to change the past
I just want you to know im sorry
I need you back you meant everything
This love for you only grows stronger
this addiction just keeps getting weaker
Im sorry for what i have done
Today is another day without you
Today is another day with memorys of the mess i made
I may not ever be able to take anything back
Though i want you to know i just need you back
JUst a reminder too look back at what we were and what we are now and see we really did the right thing by becoming sober!! Congrats to all for staying Clean!!

My name is Vic and I am an addict! Pleased and fortunate to be here I am sure of that. Most of us don't get the opportunity to do things different, or even have a chance at life again. The disease that we have wants us dead and it uses anyone or anything to get us back. It doesn't care about anything.
During my process of recovery, I went into the rooms with nothing left material wise. I always thought that was my bottom, until over a month ago. Then I hit a bottom that was more painful than ever, I had turned into someone that I wouldn't even respect. That really gave me a wake up call, I knew then just as I know now that in order for any of us to have sobriety, we must place our program ahead of anyone or anything. If we don't we will loose whatever we place ahead of our sobriety, Program, and if we are lucky enough (which I haven't been) we won't loose our sobriety with it.
One time I was telling my ex wife that I was SORRY for all of the things that I have done. She looked at me and said "Yeah, you are a sorry son of a bitch." That hurt, that made me really realize that I had been sorry all of my life. One time I was at a meeting and a guy was speaking and he said we don't go and say that we are sorry. We say, "My behaviour was inappropriate what can I do to make it right." OMG some of the things that people tell you to do, to make it right is quite humbling. So as we travel this road, this journey of life, do our best, and make things right, and just maybe there will be a chance to change. Good post
