hello I am new here!
Hi all!
I am new here.
My girlfriend has just finished day 5 of treatment.
she is a meth addict and has used alcohol to deal with some problems as well.
What ways can i support her besides calls, hugs, kisses, etc.
The visiting hours she has at her facility are very limited so we do not get to see each other much if at all.
She asked for my ball cap and sweatshirt to be "close to me" when she is in the facility.
Any help would be appreciated :-)

Hello! Welcome to SR. I am real close to you in Columbia, MO. It sounds to me like you are doing just what you need to do. My suggestion would be to head on down to the Friends and Family forum and post your question there. There will be lots of folks who can give you good advice and who have been through just what you are going through. Good for you for helping her out so much.

It's great your gf is in treatment. She's getting the help she needs right now. You can encourage and support her and give her this time to work on herself.
There are many people here who also love addicts/alcoholics. Please check out the Nar-Anon and/or Friends and Family Forums at the bottom of the Forums Page. If she is mostly meth you will probably find lots of similar stories on Nar-Anon.

Welcome and well wishes go out to your girlfriend. I'm glad she is getting the help she needs. Addiction is such a beast. It kills if we let it get a grasp on us. Try to be supportive and understanding. Recovery is like a roller coaster ride. There will be many ups and downs. I would suggest the same as others, check out NarAnon and try to find some support for yourself. You will find a better understanding of what your girlfriend is going through and why she did the things she did. Good luck...

well shortly after i posted here
my girlfriend called me and told me she was going to back to her ex.
Her ex has been abusive, controlling, etc etc...but apparently he went to visit her at treatment the other day and she has "rediscovered her love for him"
and cannot love 2 guys so she has chosen to go back to him.
