Dinner with my boss last night- he drank, I didn't- INTERESTING

Hey all, I'm on day 45 woo hoo! I'm travelling on business right now at our company headquarters. My boss invited me to dinner last night. He had a cocktail and 2 glasses of wine. It started getting interesting because he told me a lot of things I don't think he would have sober. And because I was completely sober I remember all of it. Our company is going through major power struggles, so I got an earful.

It is just amazing how different it was. Normally, I would have had a couple of glasses also (but I never over-did it in front of the boss!) but it would have been enough to impair my judgement about what I said. And I don't think I would have remembered everything so clearly.

Wow.

Wow garsh! GOOD FOR YOU!! Was it hard, of did you not even think about it/miss it? When I went on a business trip last month, I had dinner at a bar (by myself - bosses were out golfing/drinking) and didn't even think about drinking. Miracles happen!!

I wonder if your boss will even bring it up again(?) Who knows - maybe he'll even offer you a raise one of these nights, but get it in writing!! (smile)

I'm proud of you!!

Awesome Garsh!

Having a clear mind in the work world is good for people who want to advance. You collegues will look up to you for being a sober person who is in control of her life. Your bosses will see a change in you, and your confidence and competence will get stronger and stronger.

Sobriety looks good on ya!!

I really wasn't tempted. Some of that may have been my poison of choice was very specific- good chardonnays. He had a cocktail and red wine, neither of which I really crave. I'm also just so 100% committed it really didn't enter my mind!

Congrats! Isn't it nice to remember everything so clearly - yet another positive side of not drinking.

Great job! I wonder if he's got the "why did I say that last night" syndrome?
