I thought that it was rather condescending...
Talk "aloud"...does that really mean LOUD?
We're not deaf...we're depressed.
Telling us to go to some support group is great but what if I haven't felt like taking a shower for 3 days

To be honest, I take posts like the one above with much skepticism and here is why. The poster has only posted this one post. The website looks “new”. My bet is this is a spammer who is trying to direct more traffic to their site of interest and is using the guise of being helpful. I recommend not taking the "bait".

Whoa! Friends...

Alound does not refer to loudness.
I also know AA members who come dirty to meetings.

As to the intention of the member...I have no crystal ball.

I thougjt your ??? post was someone preparing a term paper...
until I checked your earlier post
Then I did reply.

We all have points of reference...so we 3 shared differently.
It's great we can do this on SR!

Well, if I don't feel like taking a shower, then I'm NOT LEAVING the house...I'll sit at home in my jammies for 4 days at a time thanks.
It's called isolating, I do it very well some weeks and I can also sleep about 16-20 hours per day when I'm that depressed. I don't feel like cooking, cleaning or leaving the house...
Medication "should be used as a last resort"...and the person should be made to feel that they are really ok?
HUH?

Give them a shoulder to cry on and let them know that you love them...
Pretty basic info there...

I'm sorry I know that it's not your website.....but I expected it to be something more.

I really doubt this'll magically cure a depressed person but some useful info could be found there, yes.
