Uh.. hi <waves>

I guess I don't know where to start.

I know what my problem is. I'm psychologically addicited to Vicodine. I was injured in a car accident several years ago.. so there are times I need it to function like a human (instead of a groaning zombie, yanno?), but often I find myself taking it for the "perk up" effect it offers. Sometimes taking too much. (3-4 pills at a time on a 135 pound male is way too much).

I don't want to goto a rehab center and get hosed down with methadone, I'd like to think I can do this myself. Get down to were I am taking it for the pain, and not for the pleasure.

But I have no idea where to start. I've tried searching the internet (how I came here) and I find a lot of places I can't afford that offer to help me.

I hope I am in the right area. I feel kinda lost.

Hello Hirrim, what a double edged sword you are facing! On the one hand you need help with the physical pain, and yet on the other hand you have probably become psychologically addicted to the pain medication as you mention. I found help with a severe back pain through meditation. You might want to check out http://www.dhamma.org for information on learning meditation. The principle teacher of that organization was once addicted to morphine because of pain, but overcame his addiction and the pain through meditation. The article I wrote on my website talks about the mental condition related to addiction. I can't promise that this approach will cure you, but I am certain it would help.
