Day 40

Day 40
Its 5:30 am and I was drinking my coffee reading the posts and I suddenly realised that today was Day 40 for me. I want share it with all of you. Its wonderful to be sober and feeling fresh, alert and liberated. I am getting to see feel and hear everything regardless of whether its good bad or indifferent. I am beginning to believe that anything is possible. When I was drinking I told myself that this was life, I was old, it was all over.
Those feelings had nothing to do with reality as I now see how untrue that is as life unfolds before me. Its not all roses, the last two days have been tough, but I got through them and that only adds to how I feel about myself, I certainly like me now and I am begining to love myself. For me at 53 after all I have been through that is a first for me EVER. Who knows what is next, whatever it is I will be sober to face and embrace it.

Big, joy filled greetings from Texas where the heat is intense and sobriety is cool. Salute! Speaking from personal experience--I have found that in my "grown years"--(anything after 40 is grown) sobriety has given me a second life--and restored me to a youthful vitality that I haven't known since childhood. Sobriety is like Saturday morning when you're a kid and the sun is shining. Wishing you so very many more!

Have you ever felt So Alive in your life? I'm 2 years older n' you, I feel alive, kinda like brand spankin' NEW! LOL..well, not that brand new
