Abigail

My only daughter is an alcoholic.
I Google the question "What to do when someone falls off the wagon". I found (sober recovery).
Thank you.
I know if she wants to be sober she will. Off and on sober is not sobriety. I went to several ala-non meetings about 2 years ago. It didn't help me.
I'm a straight arrow. She is a boomerang.
I pray. I am lost for words at the moment.

Hi Abigail and I'm sorry for your situation. As you said, she will need to decide if she wants to be sober. I hope she does, but in the meantime you should work on taking care of yourself. You will find lots of support here.

Welcome ladybug. Sorry too you are going through this. It’s hard.

Keep coming here for support ladybug. Need to talk, and share with others who understand.

Anna’s right. Take care of yourself.

Welcome to SR Abigail.

Hope you find what you need.

Take a look at: https://www.soberrecovery.com/forums...ly-alcoholics/ for more information what others in the same boat as you do to recover.

Going to al anon is a commitment, not a place to visit. We commit to attending meetings so we get to know others. Then we commit to working the 12 steps then we give back. After we do all of these and keep attending meetings, then we are working the program of recovery. It's pretty awesome to witness miracles on a regular basis and to watch others recover!

Attending a couple meetings won't do anything for you. Goal met.

Working the actual program of recovery; priceless
