Get used to it Lixie. People will be congratulating you for 200, 300 and a year days early as well. Personally I think they are so excited for you that they want to be the first. Seriously 180 and six months is a big deal. It has been a struggle to get here but now it starts to get easier. Are your days of temptation over? NO. But if you stay faithful and never drink the first drink they will grow fewer and farther between.
Hello everyone!
Not a whole lot happening here. I’m hoping to get my patio all cleaned up and ready for outdoor movie nights before the mosquitos take over. I keep reading mosquito season is going to be bad this year. Greaaaaat 🙄

Congratulations, Lixie!! 6 months is a huge accomplishment. That is when things really started to turn up for me. In the next year you will have so many wonderful changes that you won't even believe you were ever the same person,
Alessandra, I started doing a little outdoor cleaning up yesterday, too, and it felt great. We haven't been bothered too much by mosquitoes in the past, but wasps have been terrible.
Liz, be very proud of all the hard work you've put into your 6 months of recovery.

Wow, 6months is immense Lixie! I am so happy for you! I am dreaming of those figures!
Slowly but surely I have made it to 3weeks. Been getting a bit fed up this week but I think I need a break. It’s a long weekend herein the Uk. Looking forward to some serious relaxing!
Happy Friday sober pals!

Hope you have a good rest RAL. Congrats on 6 months Lixie and congrats on 3 weeks Sal! Sorry you’re feeling a bit run down Sal. Great work sticking to sobriety. Picking up that first drink won’t energize you or make anything easier! Hope you have a great long weekend.
Day 51 for me. The warming of the weather outside has fueled my AV. It’s been a bit of a struggle the last few days. I am proud I didn’t pick up that first drink. I know every battle I win against the AV only weakens it. I will kick its butt again tonight and won’t be picking up that first drink.
ODAAT. I’m committed to 24 more sober hours with you all.
Have a great Friday everyone!

Several people have mentioned that the warmer weather can trigger their AV. That can be the case but it is also easier to battle the AV in my opinion. In my case and I believe in most alcoholics cases idol time is a huge AV trigger. That is easier to wage war against with warmer weather. Get out, mow the yard, walk the dog, clean up the messy garage or shed that was neglected when you were drinking. Go bicycling, kayaking, take a walk. Try a new activity, start a new hobby that seemed impossible to do when you were drinking.

Congrats on your 300+ days. Great stuff!
