Good Morning Weekenders.

Just cleared my post trying to stop pup chase one of my cats. Sigh. Pup wants to play, cat doesn’t. One day I hope we’ll have some harmony with the pup and two cats. Don’t want a Tom and Jerry scene every day!

Hope all is well in your corner of the earth.

Shout out if you’re struggling.

xxxx

End of Day 700 - Walked for 40 minutes on the treadmill. For some reason I didn't feel like running today. Had a good dinner and watched sitcom for a while. Feeling sleepy now, Good night from Seattle.

Mags, they'll get used to each other and will eventually come to a truce of some sort. Billie chased my cats unmercifully for the first year after I got her. But I think that Franny one day had just had enough of her shenanigans, and clawed her nose a good one. I noticed Billie hardly chased them and they didn't flee from her approach. And now, even tho Billie still chases them and sometimes 'torments' them, they seem to have forgiven her and genuinely like her. Both cats will rub on her face and Billie accepts their feline friendship overtures. Give them time, they'll come around.

Dragon, congrats and hugs on seven years sober!!

CBS, congrats on 34 months sober!! :hug;

Calmself, congrats on your certification!

RunnerF, congrats on your increasing sober days!

Got to go to bed soon as some people will be going around to all the apts to spray for bugs, don't know what kind. From 9 am til 2 pm. I have to put the cats in their carriers on the porch and will take Billie and stand in the hallway so I can see what they're doing when they're in my place.

Thanks, and congratulations to everyone on piling up the days and bettering yourselves.

Feeling crappy this morning, got the flu shot and and new covid shot last night (Moderna). I have a headache and feel Ill. I had already booked the day to work from home just in case, but I feel like going back to bed. I have meetings tho. I'll just sit on zoom and moan for sympathy.

Happy Humpday!

Doing the best I can, still feeling rather yucky after the last chemo cycle. Gosh, I just want to feel normal again.

Wet and windy here in London, the weather that is, not myself.

I had an ominous looking letter from HMRC this morning (His Majestey's Revenue and Customs) It turned out to be a small rebate (very small) barely worth the dread I felt opening the letter. Better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick I suppose.

Love your sense of humor Sao. Is a rebate like our tax refunds?

The last remaining piece of my mother's estate is 2 tax refunds from the IRS. I am waiting for those to arrive in the mail so I can distribute to her heirs. Then it will all finally be settled. Just miss my mom so much. Wish I could have her back.

Blowing a Gale here. Can’t sleep with the noise. Puppy can hear stuff going on outside too. The power keeps going off and on. I can hear the printer doing it’s start up every time it comes back on. Always reminds of a poem? when I was younger “Did you ever hear the wind go Wooo? Such a pitiful sound” can’t remember much more of it.

The Night Wind

by Eugene Field

Have you ever heard the wind go Yooooo?
'T is a pitiful sound to hear!
It seems to chill you through and through
With a strange and speechless fear.
'T is the voice of the night that broods outside
When folk should be asleep,
And many and many's the time I've cried
To the darkness brooding far and wide
Over the land and the deep:
Whom do you want, O lonely night,
That you wail the long hours through?
And the night would say in its ghostly way:
Yoooooooo!
Yoooooooo!
Yoooooooo!

My mother told me long ago
(When I was a little tad)
That when the night went wailing so,
Somebody had been bad;
And then, when I was snug in bed,
Whither I had been sent,
With the blankets pulled up round my head,
I'd think of what my mother 'd said,
And wonder what boy she meant!
And Who 's been bad to-day? I'd ask
Of the wind that hoarsely blew,
And the voice would say in its meaningful way:
Yoooooooo!
Yoooooooo!
Yoooooooo!
That this was true I must allow --
You'll not believe it, though!
Yes, though I'm quite a model now,
I was not always so.
And if you doubt what things I say,
Suppose you make the test;
Suppose, when you've been bad some day
And up to bed are sent away
From mother and the rest --
Suppose you ask, Who has been bad?
And then you'll hear what 's true;
For the wind will moan in its ruefulest tone:
Yoooooooo!
Yoooooooo!
Yoooooooo!
