I haven’t taken it out of the box yet, but here’s a pic I found online….it even includes the little Linus blanket

Great tree Purps!

I don't bother with any of that anymore but one year I bought a small tree for the centre of the table. I came home later that day to find my dog Merlin had wee'd up it and there was a puddle in the middle of the table. He clearly thought it was for him

I think that a Charlie Brown type tree brings a special quality to Christmas.

I love the Charlie Brown tree.

Feeling ok this morning. Just got my dog food pkg.

About to make another cup of coffee. No plans for today. Pain in my hip isn't too awful today.

November 27 = First Sunday in Advent, traditional time of quiet preparation and reflection.
I love the centuries-old traditions that give me a wholesome balance and rhythm to the year.

The "Charlie Brown tree" reminds me of selecting a pine-branch to cut down on the farm years ago, looks splendid when it's up in the air but you get it down and find it's "got about two green bits on it" as my cousin observed

I'm not going to get a little tree this year. Last time I had a little table top tree I left it up all year and it got dusty. . Besides, I have nowhere to put it where the cats can't get to it.

Took a little nap with Billie. When we woke up I took her out on the porch potty and she peed right away. She knows what it's for. . I'm glad she uses it now. Makes it a lot easier on me, not having to take her out in front of the bldg, where she might encounter other dogs that would make her go ballistic.

Good Morning Weekenders

Goodnight calmself. Sleep well.

One of my two cats, Ginger, thinks when the Christmas tree goes up it is solely for her to climb, empty of any baubles and play on.

Hope everyone had a good sober weekend. Congratulations to each and every one of us for each day sober we clock up.

Love to all Weekenders xxxx

Good morning all. Pledging for today. Day 57. In new territory as longest sober stretch since thanksgiving 2003. Recently having thoughts of lost time for those 19 years of foggy existence. Time is here to be sober and present for all of the important people in my life.

Runnerf, those same thoughts hit me like a train early in sobriety. They eventually began to settle out as I could reflect on the stresses I was trying to cope with. Of course we all can clearly see now that alcohol is a destructive coping mechanism that only brings more negative emotions to the table. It took me 40 years to see that.

Two years ago, I had covid and was isolating upstairs in early December, terrified to come down. My kid went out on our property and cut a pine tree that was our Charlie Brown tree that year.

SO late to the party this week, but I'm in.
Super busy over the holiday weekend. I had Thanksgiving at my house twice. Once Thursday just for me and my man friend, and then again yesterday for my family. Full turkey dinners, both times. So much work, SO MANY DISHES.

Through it all, I remembered to be thankful that I am able to host these things with no desire to drink, and not much anxiety (I always have some when people come to my house, I want everything perfect, which I am working on).

Now to get caught up on the thread.

Kaily, very nice looking back yard. After doing some online reading, I got a jug of fish-friendly black dye to put in my little pond which is supposed to help prevent excessive algae growth and make the fish more difficult for the birds to see from above. Don't know if it would be the best thing for you, but just FYI.
