Back again so many times I can't keep track!

I am back again for the thousandth time!
I have been drinking very heavily since I picked up the bottle back in May!
I don't know how I am not going to drink today but I have to find a way to stop. The drinking is killing me.
I am going to hang close here today and try to get day one without drinking!
Thanks to you all in advance for the support .

Hi D42L.
Day one is tough. You’ve done this before. You’ll get through.

Keep a glass of water handy. Stay hydrated. Try to rest.

We are always here. Keep trying. Keep posting.

Welcome back, D42long.

You can do this; we can help; glad that you will be staying close.

Be kind to yourself.

D42long

we are all here for you. We can all lend experience and understanding about how hard it is to break the cycle. It helped me to focus on “I just don’t drink now” and don’t worry about the future.

It's good to have you back with us, adrunk. This can be the last time you have to go through this.

When I found SR 15 yrs. ago I had been drinking for decades. I didn't see how I could completely stop, but I felt as you do - it was killing me. I was not ready to give up on my precious life. The more I participated here, the more courage I gathered. The first few days were very rough - I was emotional & scared. Yet every day I grew a little stronger & more determined. I began looking forward to my new life - one without embarrassment & regret. You can get free too. Be proud of yourself for making this life changing choice. We know you can do it.

I pray for your success. Booze is poison. I have a friend in his 70's that drinks way too much. It is very pathetic and sad.

I suffer daily. The crave lurks. But, I know what awaits me with a relapse.

My health was so bad before I quit. These days it is better.

My neighbor, drinks daily, just had a stroke. She is in her mid 50's.

I am not going out like that.

Thanks.

I have had a good sober day two! I helped a friend with a project to keep myself busy and made a little money as well so that was positive!
I made myself a good dinner and I am pleasantly full and feeling proud of myself for not picking up the bottle!
I know I have a long road ahead of me but I am going to enjoy the little victories!

Great job on 2 days. You're right to keep busy & your mind occupied.
I love those 2 in your avatar - Labs, I presume.

Wow, 12 is a good age for Labs - and they look much younger. We had a yellow boy. One of many reasons I wanted to get sober - to be a better dog mom.

Congratulations on two days. Pulling for you to continue to just don’t drink now. Let the future not be overwhelming. Life is to precious to drown in alcohol.
