Day 18 .. I HAVE to keep trying ..

Whatever I try and do to manage the pain in my broken shoulder, it is there constantly and unbearably unless I take morphine. So I have taken one dose today and will take another later .. otherwise I really can’t think straight. It’s a kind of bone-on-bone pain which makes me want to scream. The Orthopedic specialist says the bone is healing nicely but I need to go back to the pain management guy on Tuesday as I really can’t bear this … but hey.. no thoughts of drinking so that’s a plus ! I have to keep trying to push through ! Onwards !

Do they know why you are in such pain still?? Seems like enough time has passed that the pain would subside a bit by now....

I have done (told him about the pain). Apparently it’s normal for such a complex break.

Ice, heat, relaxation, meditation. "Insight Timer" App has many great guided meditations for just about any ailment.

I dont know if this applies:
Ive read pain medications, after a time, can make our pain a bit worse. Perhaps you are experiencing "Opioid Induced Hyperalgesia"........ I'm not a doctor and don't claim to be one, but I would ask your doctor if this is happening to you. It could be. Its worth asking about. I hope you start to feel some relief soon, ICAN.
