Day 17 … acceptance

Drawing on every acceptance skill I have now to deal with truly excruciating pain from broken shoulder… distraction via TV dramas and chocolate just about working. Day 7 since I broke it. From my recollection, fracture pain starts to diminish a bit around now but maybe shoulders are more complicated !

Acceptance is a very worthwhile skill to work on, to use in many areas of our lives. It's something I'm working on myself at present.
I do hope you get some pain relief before long. Best wishes.

It must be dreadful and exhausting Ican. But good on you for embracing acceptance. Better to not add negative emotions/mental anguish on-top if we can prevent it, the whole pain is inevitable, suffering is optional thing. Having said that I hope the pain doesn't linger too long as it certainly impacts quality of life and makes positivity difficult. Keep keeping on ❤️

Acceptance is very helpful.
Pain is not helpful. It doesn't seem right that your GP or consultant has not given you appropriate and targeted pain relief. I don't think you need to accept that - can you face going back and ask for it to be tweaked so that you are not in so much pain?
