One month sober

I can’t believe I have been sober for one month today!

I pondered in the shower last night thinking about what a mess I was when I was drinking. I looked evil and old! Now I’m starting to look a little fresh. Probably because my body is getting nutrients! I don’t miss drunk me. She was a bit of a basket case.

Congratulations on a month sober Takeaction. I’m pleased you’re feeling the benefits.
Sobriety gives us so much that drinking takes away.

Hi take action, good for you!

That first month is hard…….we CAN do hard things, we CAN be free from the chains of addiction. We CAN be happier and more contented.

It takes more than thinking about it, or wishing for it. It takes perseverance, patience, and it “takesaction”.

LOVE that user name.

Stay close

🤓❤️

Congratulations Takeaction.

I sure do know what you mean by "basket case." 😬

We don't have to be that person anymore. How good is that!

Great job on your first month! Sounds like you are healing and starting to see the benefits and not just the hard work—well done!

You have the right attitude, and the barely manageable cravings are behind you. From here on, it's about vigilance, and always choosing not to drink. And now you have the power to actually choose, whereas before not so much. I call this the mind games phase, because the AV now uses a little more finesse, rather than those crude and barbaric nasty cravings to win you back. This part was easier for me, but every bit as dangerous. Learn to live in this phase, because it's a lot longer that the two weeks of cravings. This where you set the course for the rest of your life.

Congratulations, and as Fish Killer already noted, "If you can do a month, you can do a lifetime."
