Just checking in, over 8 years clean now
Last drink 02/17/2014
Looking forward to the 10 year milestone
Honestly I don't even think about alcohol or this forum that much anymore, after a while my brain just seemed to "move on" to other things to think about/occupy itself as life moved along. And speaking of that, my goodness time seems to fly, 2014 only seems like it was 3-4 years ago rather than 8 years...
But anyways, if you can get past those dark early days, there is light at the end of the tunnel. But the early part is the most difficult with the dark days, cravings, side-effects, insomnia, etc
A very special thank you to coffee, for getting me thru those insomnia-filled dark early days of 2014 lol

After you get the sobriety thing squared away, there is much in the world beyond alcoholism to enjoy and cultivate. I think you are in a good place. I still like talking to others in recovery, but there's a much bigger part of my life that doesn't involve thinking about alcohol.
I have read through ALL your posts, all 470+ of them, to follow your amazing journey.
Thank you for all of them. You are insightful, and your thoughtful, supportive responses to so many on SR over the years. I truly hope they are on their successful journeys as well.
Best to you!
