Day 15 .. theimpossible is possible when sober !!

Day 15 and another night of poor sleep.. however, I had been worried about multiple projects I had to complete this week and couldn’t see how I was going to do it ! But the good news is, that I’ve just completed two out of four and it’s only Wednesday ! Sobriety does indeed make one more focussed and productive even with insomnia ! :-) Hope everyone is well !

I realized that as well! I am much more productive and energetic even if I did not have a great night's sleep, when I am sober (am on day 53 by the way). More over, I am able to be focused in the moment and do not get easily frustrated. So we not only just get more time (which folks call as meh or boring!) and but also more time of higher quality!

Congrats on Day 15, keep going! You will see it gets easier and easier.

So very happy for you Ican.

Things do have a way of working out when we're sober.

Congratulations on 15 days!

Sobriety is great when it comes to having more time to complete tasks.

No longer are we wasting days hungover or depressed. Instead we can wake up and look forward to the day.. We have more energy and time to get the things we need to do done! It's great!

Yes, even when we're tired, when our heads are clear and calm, we can still focus and work. I'm a famous Olympic-caliber insomniac, and at least one night during the week, I wake up at 3:00 a.m. or so, having slept 4 hours max, and I'm up. But sober, that simply doesn't bother me anymore. It is always such a good feeling when I wake up like that to know that while I'll be a bit drowsy the next day, I'll still be able to think and work and be there for the people in my life.

I think I'm on day 10.... not sleeping at all because my anxiety is so bad. Panic attacks getting 100 times worse. I can't keep taking klonopin....I refuse to rely on it, even if it is prescribed.
I hope your sleep starts to get better soon

Have you tried all the ' sleep hygiene' ideas? It was awful for me at the beginning too. So no caffeine after lunch, no tablet or phone in the evening except perhaps with protective glasses. Herbal tea etc etc. Lavender oil. I also spent my booze money on a new pillow, quilt and lovely bedding - made my bedroom a haven but only for sleeping. There's an interesting read ' Why we Sleep' by Matthew Walker on Kindle. Hope it improves for you soon

Part of getting things done is in organizing, and of course it's easier to organize (or do anything) with some sober time), but I've found making paper and pencil lists of things that need attention is valuable. The lists are seldom as vast as they seem in our head, and when then taking action, you can only do one thing at a time, after which you cross one thing off the list. All that chaos in our head then becomes a methodical progression that is actually less involved than when we sit around stewing about all of it.
