How's things going?
i used to think I wasn't alcoholic, more convincingly when I'd had a drink (?)
i thought I didn't have a problem for so many different 'reasons'
I have zero problems connected to my alcohol usage since I no longer 'use'keep going, you can stop

Now that resonates. I fought with my brain for too many years when I should have put the bottle away. Alcoholism was not a typical problem for me solve. It required a behavior change. I knew about behavior modification, but my default problem solving method mostly depended on mental activity. I had to learn to change my behavior to fix my drinking problem. That cleared the way to proceed with other things.

Tetrax, do whatever it takes to stop. Things will only get worse if you don't.

I'm still drinking tbh but tapering down now. I plan on reacquainting myself with AA ASAP.

You'll get this thing figured out Tetrax. Will tomorrow be your Day 1? I hope you are well enough and feeling hopeful.

Sending you best wishes - see if you can make a fail proof plan. I passed my bank cards to a friend so I couldn't access alcohol easily. I'm approaching 90 days soon enough. I was in the hole too - in the alcohol zone!

Nice one, Unite.

Tetrax, these are the sort of steps you need to take to start quitting in earnest. I think you know whatever you’ve done before hasn’t worked.

Hi Tetrax,

Just want to wish you a happy new year. I am glad you’re here and posting. It seems like today will be your day one, it’s a great time to start putting your plan into action, are there any AA meeting nearby today? If not, I know there are many online.

You can do this.

❤️Delilah

We're all behind you, Tetrax. Hoping it's Day 1 soon, & that lasting sobriety will follow.

Tetrax- the time is now, I have said it ll start Tuesday so many times, then it becomes the weekend, then next month.

If you have a problem with alcohol like us, and it sounds like you do, the time is now.

Go for it, you can do it.

Still struggling guys; I've literally become nocturnal. I don't wake till sunset and only feel tired around sunrise. It's a tricky one.

Is it really that tricky?
whatever time you wake up, don't buy booze, don't drink booze...sit with the discomfort. It will pass.

If you think you need medical help get yourself to an ER - they'll be open.
I know it seems monumental but the basic task is simple - not easy perhaps but simple.

I know what you're saying. I just wish there were detox places in my country (I went to A&E a year ago and got scolded by one of the doctors).
