Two years today

Two years is not much in the scheme of things, though DustyFox might see it otherwise.

Cannot adequately express the gratitude I feel that no longer a shamed and pathetic drunk, quivering, frightened.

Sobriety sings a sorry tale sometimes, but never so sorry as the morning after the swill; and the days that are bound to follow.

Here's to another day of sobriety. ✨

Fantastic job, Steely. Two years is exceptional from where I sit, and I know you have fought really hard for that while also having much to deal with in your personal life. You are an inspiration, Steely.

Au contraire, Steely. You’ve not had it easy of late and you were nearly tempted a few weeks back. Don’t play down your two years as that’s a superb achievement.

Awww, you mob

'Mob' is used here often by aboriginal people to describe family. It's also the collective noun for a group of kangaroos. Both work for me here.

Steely, two years of recovery is fantastic. You've had a lot to deal with and you've managed things with dignity and grace. Be very proud of yourself.

Steely- you're right I do see it as a big deal! Two years is really impressive and tells me that you have some awesome inner strength to remain true to your self . It must feel good! Congratulations!
