Whenever I feel like drinking I just think about the hangover I will have the next day. It seems to work really well for me. It just worked for me this evening.

Winding down for the day now. It is so strange how for a fraction of a second drinking sounds/feels like a good idea. Thankfully these thoughts are countered instantly with the truth of the situation. Guard was up today. Fed and washed for the evening now. Another sober day and proud of it.

Expanding a bit on overforty's post....there's an episode of the Simpsons where Homer is reminiscing about his drunken night beforehand. He recalls being witty and intelligent and the life and soul of the party and loved and adored by everyone and all hanging onto his every word. Then they play the tape of what he REALLY was like. I'm sure that was me a hundred times.
