2 week check in
So far so good. I finally conjured up the right attitude to approach this head on. I think I can leave it behind me no regrets or remorse truly lucky to still have all that I do. The odd craving can be shot down with the old playing the tape forward approach.
the amount of mental turmoil it caused me to want and not want to drink was literally tearing holes in my well being. Throw in the physical need and anxiety and I was a mess. I got here. Now to stay here and heal and grow.
Free from the constant sick, fatigue, self loathing and existential dread.
I lived the alcohol dependent life for long enough. It wasn't working or helping for the last decade. Tried and tested there is a better way to live.
This time it took me many months of taper and bender cycles. Bit the bullet. That was the last time.
I'm excited to feel and think we'll again.
