So today is my day 0
I知 struggling with depression, anxiety, and stress of therapy. However I知 quite hopeful and interested in how being sober will help me.
Ive been attending AA meetings online now for a few days and find them helpful.
Ive been attending AA meetings online now for a few days and find them helpful.
Keep reading from those who inspire you to remain sober
each day moving forward. Learn how they are continuing to
achieve the gifts of life by living in recovery.
There are many paths folks choose to help them stay sober
and leave their addictions behind them. AA was taught to me
31 yrs ago and has continued to be my guideline to living a
sober life.
SR has become one of my recovery lifelines I choose to hold
tightly to because there is inspiration and support from the fellowship
here amongst wonderful folks striving for the same thing as I.
We never have to go thru anything in life alone or by ourselves
which makes traveling on this journey in recovery comforting for
most.
Stay connected and continue to learn as much as you can
about addiction and recovery to further you alone to achieve
continuous sobriety and happiness in life.

Good to get back on track LeadHatter and sticking close to SR is a good idea too
Yes today will be both Day 0 and Day 1 for you! It's your first day, soon enough it will be 24 hours and on to day 2.
If you are struggling with the stress of therapy, is there any alternative you could do? Is this group therapy or am I thinking of someone else (someone posted last week that they found group therapy was triggering an urge to drink)?.

How being sober will help you:
A more stable sense of self
More money
More energy
More time to accomplish whatever it is you want to accomplish
More clarity
physical, mental, and emotional health
Higher self esteem
The benefits far outweigh the hours spent consuming alcohol. Hope is a wonderful thing. Stay close. Post often and know that you can change your life.

I think there's something quite exciting about making the leap into the "unknown"
Drink, you've been there, done that, it's not worth it.
What else is out there that is worth the effort you put in? Now you have the chance to find out.
I'd be surprised if stopping drinking didn't help with your anxiety and depression as drink induces both. You have a chance to find out that too.
Good Luck 🌱

You sound really committed to get and stay sober. Your posting on SR frequently shows that, along with your getting therapy. I truly believe you will be one of the success stories here on SR. You are doing a great job dealing with your depression and anxiety. Your determination is inspiring!!!!!!!! Keep fighting the good fight. The payoff will be worth it. John
Hi LH - Congratulations on day 1. Therapy is an odd thing, talking to another person you don't know well, therapists don't have all the answers but they can listen and they can help you reflect on what you have said, pause when you may have said something that needs more exploration. It does take time to get used to it.
Just saw this! Awesome!
Looks like Day 3 now
"Trust the process"
This^^
I fought the "process" forever. Not until I came to SR and gave in to it did I stand a chance.
You can do it!
BTW, me personally, my anxiety is way better since quitting.
