Hey...Long time away
Hey. I haven't been around since the beginning of the year. Thinking back, I was angry at the world over covid, politics, many things.I have since just stopped watching the news and am happier because of it. I have been an off and on again drinker. Just retired, 2 months after my wife. I have beaten a lot of odds, healthwise, though I know at some point, it will catch up with me. I do believe in the subconscious training that our brains have been subjected to, so I guess that I am retraining myself over a lot of time. I never drink from stress or anger or anything like that anymore. I finally realized that this was the worst time to give in. The last time I gave in, it was over celebrating my retirement. It is over, I'm ready to go on with the next phase of my life and I plan on starting that phase sober.
I am not sure what you mean by retaining your brain. Sounds like you are still drinking and all that is retraining is your addiction. That's why I asked if it was day one. You retrain your brain for sobriety by being sober, not by thinking about being sober.
