Sober Goals Saturday

Good morning SR newcomers section; Was thinking to help anyone thinking about quitting an addiction whether it's the 1st or the 1000th time

My biggest advice is be the best version of you it's a great place to start off.

You may of heard journalling and logging on here a lot which helps massively but maybe record WhatsApps voice notes or texts to yourself when your having a moment and then use that time to reach out.. by that I mean come here if you have no irl friends and just say it, this saves lives in all areas of addiction and behaviour

Start reading non fictional books along with the fictional ones my good friend Itchy always says how easy it is at his age to kindle which is like a E book

Start walking (no not for depression) just if you wanna shred a few extra pounds and declutter the mind a walk does that (bar the crazy cyclist people who want carnage)

Treat yourself to a gift of sobriety ? Help someone on here go to an AA meeting help with anything any groups are offering.

Ring up a friend who truly cares about you (yes it's a paradox because of they did I wouldn't be writing this) BUT ! Ring a friend just hearing general chit chat is good for staying in the loop of things

Grow a few plants with soil and seeds it doesn't count if you don't get your hands dirty.

Don't let anyone berate you for your past acknowledge it once then tune off and relinquish communication until either you or they want to talk about anything to do with 'your past'

I'm getting a lil jumbled so finish with that if you think things are bad now what do you think happens if you keep on going down destructicon central.. everything will be destroyed inside and out

Whatever your addiction or thing is you got me and way more regular staff and members always welcoming and willing to help out

Peace out shout to tech staff & all staff at SR

TBH , on this Saturday I'm not doing any of this lol.
I work until 5am. I'm so tired I think I'll sleep til 5pm! Then, work again
so I'll be sober but not helpful lol

Maybe some of my nonsense posts will help someone in the meantime.

Power walking by releasing endorphins can help depression-
Plants a great idea. especially the very hardy succulents.....you can even grow them indoors.
