Day 12 . comfort food and self care in order !
It is Day 12.. I haven’t got this far before for aaages ! When I woke up I weighed myself and worked out I need to lose c 30lbs. So I started planning low carb meals with cauliflower rice ( which I hate) etc . Then I had some unnecessarily stressful admin things and thought “d@#m it I need comfort food!”. So I made a cauliflower in cheese sauce with potatoes and it was delicious ! The diet can wait. As part of my increasing self-care I went and got some new glasses, booked a dental appointment and a haircut .. both of which I have neglected for a looong time ! So I’m feeling like I’m quite in control and that the future is bright IF I put myself first !

Hi ICDT. My humble opinion on food is to not get too carried away in early sobriety. Find one or two healthy foods and eat all you want. For days and days I ate only raspberries and watermelon and bites of dark chocolate. Also, if you hate cauliflower rice, don't ever make it again. There are hundreds of available healthy foods for you to eat and all you need to do is to pick the ones you like. Eating awful-sounding crap you hate will always be counterproductive.. Again, if I were you I wouldn't worry too much about what you eat for the first few months. If fried chicken and baked potatoes are your jams, eat those. One thing at a time.
