First full day
Today, having tapered down, was my first day without alcohol, even with outside meddling, I held it together.
This site has certainly help me today, just dipping in and out, kept busy.
Thank you for this forum, and the kind encouragement,

Oh yeah Surrender,
Just got out, finally, of a domestic violent relation, fellow alcoholic. The last beating was the last, Need to have a second Court hearing, Police obtained a 28 day order. This one will give me a Year. In UK we call it a non-molestation order. Hearing is Friday, by phone 'cause of Covid.
My ex, had his friends making life very difficult, had left him a year earlier, then would appear to give comfort etc, Classic I know now. Two nasty things, one in my letter box, rubbish scattered outside my window.
My first reaction was "I need a drink", but made homemade soup instead lol

James, good for you for making the decision to stop drinking. I'm sorry about the issues you're dealing with regarding your ex, but you know, being sober, you'll be able to deal with things in the best way possible.
James - Great job on Day 1. I fooled myself into thinking alcohol was making things calmer & easier. It was doing just the opposite. We need a clear head to deal with life. You're smart to stay busy - that is key. I'm happy you're getting free of it.

that is a tough set of circumstances that you manage to separate yourself from. Congratulations on that! It is great that you have found yourself here and committing yourself to sobriety. Wishing you all the best on this journey <3
