Addiction to Recovery

Hello my name is Antone and I am an alcoholic. Addiction to alcohol took more than half my life. 191 days sober now. Online AA meetings and general discussion and mostly a renewed relationship with my higher power have been my crutch lately and looking forward to more discussion. I'm grateful I found this forum.

Welcome aboard, Buqadee! 191 days is a tremendous accomplishment and you should be proud of that. At almost a year sober I can tell you that things continue to improve.

You're subject line states "addiction to recovery". Do you feel this is an issue? If so, don't worry about it. For me, the only way I could stop drinking was to turn ALL of my attention to recovery, I had to. But as I become more solid in my recovery, I'm able to branch out more and more.

Crutches are good. I need crutches. Sometimes I need a wheelchair or a gurney. We all do.

I say lean on that Higher Power. It will never let you fall.

Welcome.

Addiction to recovery doesn’t sound like too much of a bad thing for an alcoholic in the early years. Then it’s about finding a balance and living a great contented life.
