Went to the shops today to buy fish & chips for dinner, had to walk past a pub. A man stood outside pacing, puffing on a cigarette. His face was bloated red, his eyes were slits.

I wanted it to be different for him, but had to walk on by.

I am so very grateful.

I'm grateful to be sober most of the time. Sometimes I get nostalgic for the bad old days. I think about how nice it would be to pound an eight pack of Druids in the park. But of course I know I was miserable doing that.
