And....2 years AF today
So, I'm two years sober today. NO alcohol for me, thanks. I'm a non-drinker.
This decision rates way up there on my "Wisest choices I ever made" list. After attending tons of AA meetings, out-patient therapy, addiction readings, and a much-needed spiritual kick in the ass, I finally got back onto the roadway of life.
What helps me stay sober? Acceptance, Commitment, and Effort. Accept abstinence, commit to change the addiction habits and eliminate stressors, and apply vigorous effort. It does get easier. And it does get much better.
