First Milestone

It's been a little while since I checked in. I'm definitely more of a reader than a poster. I get so much out of reading the posts. Tomorrow is 40 days for me. Things are settling down, sleep is much easier to come by which I'm really grateful for.

My recovery is front and centre and I refuse to take an eye off it which I've been guilty of in the past which in turn has led to relapse on more than a few occasions. I've been listening to a lot off different podcasts, Recovery Elevator, The Addicted Mind but my favourite is Recovery Radio - KPMG. He's as cool as... 😁 I look forward to getting to other milestones and passing my best as an adult which is around 130 days.

Keep going people. Never give up ❤

Congratulations! I have 7 months and my longest before that was 53 days. Passing the 53 day mark was a huge goal. When I got to that day and knew I would make it, it was like another weight lifted. Like you, I have not taken my eye off the ball. I call it my “active” sobriety. That may sound depressing to some; that after 7 months I still have to work at daily, but I’m also finding joy again...real joy. And I’m a 1000x more emotionally stable.

I can totally see how recovery occurs in stages over years. Just imagine where we could be a few years from now.

peace

40 days is a big deal, keep it going. Have not read the whole thread so I don't know if you've relapsed. But OP is heartening.

This is really encouraging to read 😁. I plan for active sobriety forever so it's not a problem

Thank you everyone. It's really appreciated.

Congrats. Like many here I can say that the more work you do, the more sober you get, the better it gets. Keep up the good work.
