Thank you SR
Thank you SR
A few days ago I posted in a terrible condition asking for help. Thankfully i'm now 2 days off king alcohol. I found 24/7 online meetings and am about to make my first share. Despite being in the midst of horrible withdrawals right now I am just feeling full of gratitude Thank you so much.
So nice to see you are feeling gratitude in the midst of a hangover. That's how we do it because no matter what's in front of us, we can always choose gratitude. Since I got sober 6 months ago, I focus on gratitude daily, no matter how I'm feeling.
There is always something to be grateful for. And there is always something to do besides drinking. I'm finding that with each sober day, I'm gaining more clarity.
Keep going!

Happy to read your good news, someday. I found so much encouragement here that I was able to let go of a 30 yr. addiction & begin a new life. I had felt all alone - no one else understood what I was going through. SR changed that lost feeling. Congrats on your 2 days sober. I hope you find your meeting helpful. We're with you.
Awesome to hear. I second Sober45's post about gratitude. Gratitude is one of the best things we can have. I think as alcoholics, the process of beating our addictions sets us above your average person. Drop the king from alcohol though. It doesn't deserve that title
