End of day 4

First time in over 3 years I've done 4 days no alcohol

Noted so far:-
Work is easier

Mentally I feel better (still feel a bit lost? And foggy?)

Driving is a privelege knowing I'm doing it legally and joyfully

I'm eating

Drinking water

Laughing a bit more

Waking up is the best feeling ever. Starting a fresh day over

Only 4 Days, of beautiful, real, life 😊

Then enjoy the best feeling ever and make it day 5.

Folk that make day 90 don't ever want to drink again. But that not important, make it to day 7 and let us know and we'll help from there.

Hi and welcome alcoman

4 days is a great start - and post away - no need to wait until day 7 to post again - not sure what Alba meant there.

I took it a day at a time for the first 90 days - committing to sobriety each day - & things got progressively easier altho I wouldn't say I never wanted to drink again after 90 days things certainly got a lot easier for me after that milestone

D

Hi Alcoman! Great to have you with us.
I was a bit disoriented for a while too. Everything got better & easier. You're going to love your new life of freedom.

Sounds like you’re doing well.

I’m almost done with day 15. It gets better. Have done a month and a few months in the last ten years. The hardest part for me is when you start feeling good and normal is not to let your guard down. Google the symptoms and it’s not pretty. I still have tinnitus, nerve tingling, itching and some abdominal discomfort after 2 weeks.

It gets better. But if you stumble it will get worse when you try to recover again. And at some point you might not get another chance.

There’s one answer and it’s not to drink.

Really good to hear, Alcoman.

I remember quite clearly being pretty scattered for a couple months. I'm glad you're eating well, that has to help, right? Keep it going.

Thumbs up

Good morning,

I want to toss this into the mix. And this is: I'm new to recovery myself - for the umteenth time. But this time I'm doing a few things differently. Namely, I've stopped keeping track of my sober days and it was easy to do because I went into this stretch of sobriety with a mindset to keep myself busy by living my life. I know my sober date and that's good enough. And boy does time fly - jeez! I wouldn't mind so much if it slowed down a wee bit. I'm already less than three months away from my next birthday. I JUST HAD THE LAST ONE!!

Stay mindful of the things you cherish - do them - and you just might find that you don't miss alcohol or drinking so much anymore.

Nothing better than waking up sober and that feeling that comes from not having to face the day hungover. Good for you

This really resonated with me as it doesn't really seem to me so much about the days this time, more so my attitude

Thank you to all who've replied to me I appreciate it!!
