I'm getting the ball rolling tomorrow. Going to rehab
I just can't keep doing this. Woke up this morning in a random condo on the beach. No keys, wallet,or phone couldn't find my truck. Luckily they were all 10 miles up the road at the condo I do some work for. But man the regret and fear has been terrible today. Can not keep doing this or I'm gonna end up in jail or dead.
I too began my recovery journey in a 28 day
rehab stay with a 6 week aftercare outpatiant
to complete that portion of the program some
29 yrs ago.
They taught me about my addiction and handed
me a gift of a recovery program to incorporate
in my daily life as a guideline to live and achieve
many of lifes rewarding gifts.
Im glad you are taking time to do this for yourself
and begin to learn how to put your addiction behind
you by learning about addiction and its affects on
you and those around you.
Then to absorb helpful tools and knowledge to use
on a daily bases in all areas of your life to avoid slips
or relapses that occur often.
Your journey into a new healthy life is about to happen
and positive changes are on the way with each step you
take. Keep an open mind, go with willingness to do what
is necessary to get out of your addiction and apply honesty
to it to achieve the gift of sobriety waiting for you.
I hope you will hold onto to us here in SR and come back
and share your experiences, strengths and hopes with us
which is another awesome lifeline that I and many others
hold on each day.
Sending support, care and understanding your way.

I hope you don't make the same mistake that I did, thinking that rehab would fix me. It gave me a good start, but I discovered it is how I lived after that had the biggest impact. I blew it initially, but eventually started on the path they had recommended, the AA way of life, and have been happily sober ever since.
Sounds familiar. I have lost about 12 smartphones in the last decade. Woken up in jail, hospitals, even the psych ward. The hardest part is trying to retrace my steps and realizing that I can't remember. Then a month later I do the whole thing over again...

man does this ever sound familiar. Complete blackout and swear you won't do it again. But then a month later....blackout!!!
Cj - I did reckless things & put myself in danger too. It was becoming life threatening - both for myself & others. The only way to stay safe was to give up the idea that I could ever drink socially. It's a very good & brave thing you're doing. May you get free and stay that way. A wonderful new life is waiting for you.
