I also deactivated my Facebook.
I do and say embarrassing and rude things when I'm ****** up. I don't even want to read through some of the rants I went on in Messenger.
That is the worst part. Alcohol changes my brain. I really don't think through my actions.

Congrats TWTOM! 😊
I've been debating on trying AA as Im currently attending the SMART online meetings twice a week which have been great but AA is a lot more accessible in my area! Thanks for posting 🙂

Glad to see some positiveness compared to the threads you've been posting. Keep up the meetings. I was told early on to that I could find one thing to take away from every meeting that would be good. It's never proven bad advice.
Being happy is where you want to be. I spent years struggling to get ahead and becoming financially secure, while sometimes hating my job. I quit drinking two years after I got divorced, and two years before I took and early retirement. Talk about getting rid of a S***load of conflict, and since I quit drinking, I decided to throw in my towel of struggle and focus on just those things that make me happy. If something is harmless but dumb, but it makes me happy, I do it. I've learned I can allow myself to be happy. Sometimes I wonder if I should feel guilty about ignoring the ugly and embracing the happy. But I think I'm doing the right thing, because... well... I'm happy.
I think you are onto something good. If it makes you happy, do it. Get yourself a Golden Retriever, and take lessons from him. Dogs can show you how easy it is to be happy with the simplest of things. It doesn't have to be a big production.
