I read Slash's book too. Duff McKagan, the bass player, was the worst alcoholic of the lot. He would mix a drink and leave it on his nightstand when he went to sleep so he could guzzle it as soon as he woke up. His liver was so damaged by the end that doctors told him that one more drink would literally kill him. He's been sober ever since.
