46 Days
Hello there, my name is Travis and I am new to the community. Today marks, 46 days sober, which is the longest I have been sober in several years and my first sober Christmas since whhhew.. Who knows...?
I am not sure what took me so long to join this community... I think it is related to the same reasoning that I have not yet attended an AA meeting- That is, that I was not convinced that this was for real. As many of you can relate, this is not my first attempt at being sober from alcohol- I have tried everything and so, I guess this was sort of like a test-run (as unfair and full of self doubt as that sounds.) I suppose I wanted to get some time under my belt before going to the meetings as to not appear to be a fraud. With that said this time feels different. I do not think that I need to go to AA- I want to go to AA. I am ready to get a sponsor, work the steps, and start working on myself spiritually. I am looking forward to all of the support from this online community and my future AA fellowship. Thank you all for reading the musings of a 46 day sober new me.
Regards
Travis P.
